Are your cross stitch patterns for beginners or advanced?
My cross stitch patterns are suitable both for beginners and advanced. In my view, the advantage of cross stitching as an embroidery technique (a comprehensive Cross Stitch guide is provided with each of our patterns) is that it is accessible to anyone, and to start cross stitching you do not need to attend special courses or necessarily have experience. The difficulties might arise when other embroidery techniques are used in a project, or when a project uses a huge number of colours that have to be frequently changed. That is why in my projects I try to use only cross stitching technique (very rarely backstitch is used, but it is very simple as a technique, and IF it is used in a project, a comprehensive guide is provided); a limited number of colours (which is a challenge for a designer to produce the same effect with a limited number of tools); when many colours have to be used in a project, I still try to facilitate the projects by eliminating single crosses that, as any experienced cross stitcher knows, are too disturbing and require much effort and patience).
Advanced cross stitchers can find original patterns to create unique projects not only because our patterns are handmade, but also because it is possible to contribute to their uniqueness even more by substituting the colours of our patterns according to your own taste (The examples of it you can see here).
You said I can substitute floss colours, how?
Yes, you can. If you have 1-colour pattern (such as, for example, "Matryoshka Circle Dance", you can choose any colour you want! If you want to change, for instance, different shades of violet to different shades of blue (for instance, for our pattern "The Violet") without having a harmful effect on your project, you can choose similar shades with the help of the Conversion Chart. If you want to use other types of floss rather than DMC, you can also consult the Conversion Chart. If you experience difficulties, or want our advice on the choice of alternative colours, contact us.
What if I want to change the Fabric?
You can also substitute the size of Aida. However, be aware that the overall size of your project will change. Here you can check estimated changes of the size of your project by using the Cross Stitch Calculator. If you are used to cm, remember that 1 cm = 0.4 inches, or use this Calculator.
